Crime declining in Minneapolis: What's the latest in the trend? - Dec ’25

The number of crime incidents in Minneapolis saw an overall decrease last month, after a previous decrease, according to data from CrimeoMeter. Incidents fell to 3,074 for Dec-2025 down from 3,539 for Nov-2025 (-13.1% change).

The offenses that decreased the most were Robbery and Burglary/Breaking & Entering. Robbery fell to 59 incidents last month, from 100 the month before. (-41% change). Burglary/Breaking & Entering went from 220 to 139 (-36.8% change).
Among the types of offenses that saw an uptick last month, reports of Drug/Narcotic Violations went from 56 to 71 incidents (+26.8% change). Incidents of Simple Assault rose from 307 to 315 incidents (+2.6% change). Aggravated Assault went up from 180 to 183 incidents (+1.7% change).
