Crime declining in San Francisco: What's the latest in the trend? - Feb ‘25

The number of crime incidents in San Francisco saw an overall decrease last month, after a previous rise, according to data from CrimeoMeter. Incidents fell to 7,133 for Feb-2025 down from 7,621 for Jan-2025 (-6.8% change).

​​The offenses that decreased the most were Motor Vehicle Theft and Burglary/Breaking & Entering. Motor Vehicle Theft fell to 363 incidents last month, from 428 the month before. (-15.2% change). Burglary/Breaking & Entering went from 424 to 360 (-15.1% change).


Among the types of offenses that saw an uptick last month, reports of Drug/Narcotic Violations went from 500 to 540 incidents (+8% change). Incidents of Robbery rose from 162 to 172 incidents (+6.2% change). Simple Assault went up from 365 to 368 incidents (+0.8% change).
