The number of crime incidents in New York saw an overall decrease last month, after a previous decrease, according to data from CrimeoMeter. Incidents decreased to 37,904 for Sep-2025 up from 38,349 for Aug-2025 (-1.2% change).

Among the types of offenses that saw an uptick last month, reports of Burglary/Breaking & Entering went from 2,029 to 2,221 incidents (+9.5% change). Incidents of Aggravated Assault rose from 625 to 626 incidents (+0.3% change). Simple Assault went down from 7,013 to 6,785 incidents (-3.3% change).
