Crime decreasing in Seattle: What's the latest in the trend? - Feb ’26

The number of crime incidents in Seattle saw an overall decrease last month, after a previous decrease, according to data from CrimeoMeter. Incidents fell to 3,894 for Feb-2026 down from 5,118 for Jan-2026 (-23.9% change).

The offenses that decreased the most were Theft From Motor Vehicle and Drug/Narcotic Violations. Theft From Motor Vehicle fell to 473 incidents last month, from 737 the month before. (-35.8% change). Drug/Narcotic Violations went from 112 to 72 (-35.7% change).
Among the types of offenses that saw an uptick last month, reports of Robbery went from 93 to 95 incidents (+2.2% change).
