The number of crime incidents in Denver saw an overall decrease last month, after a previous rise, according to data from CrimeoMeter. Incidents fell to 5,449 for Aug-2026 down from 5,688 for Jul-2026 (-4.2% change).

The offenses that decreased the most were Robbery and Motor Vehicle Theft. Robbery fell to 80 incidents last month, from 108 the month before. (-25.9% change). Motor Vehicle Theft went from 402 to 300 (-25.4% change).

Among the types of offenses that saw an uptick last month, reports of Drug/Narcotic Violations went from 233 to 282 incidents (+21% change). Incidents of Simple Assault rose from 338 to 380 incidents (+12.4% change).
