The number of crime incidents in Boston saw an overall increase last month, after a previous rise, according to data from CrimeoMeter. Incidents increased to 7,327 for June-2026 up from 7,186 for May-2026 (+2% change).

Among the types of offenses that saw an uptick last month, reports of Aggravated Assault went from 141 to 164 incidents (+16.3% change). Incidents of Motor Vehicle Theft rose from 113 to 126 incidents (+11.5% change). Shoplifting went up from 362 to 380 incidents (+5% change).
