The number of crime incidents in Seattle saw an overall increase last month, after a previous decrease, according to data from CrimeoMeter. Incidents increased to 5,748 for Apr-2023 up from 4,598 for Mar-2023 (+25% change).
Among the types of offenses that saw an uptick last month, reports of Theft From Motor Vehicle went from 391 to 797 incidents (+103.8% change). Incidents of Destruction/Damage/Vandalism of Property rose from 449 to 707 incidents (+57.5% change). Shoplifting went up from 243 to 357 incidents (+46.9% change).
