The number of crime incidents in Dallas saw an overall decrease last month, after a previous rise, according to data from CrimeoMeter. Incidents fell to 11,092 for Apr-2024 down from 11,678 for Mar-2024 (-5% change).
The offenses that decreased the most were Shoplifting and Motor Vehicle Theft. Shoplifting fell to 355 incidents last month, from 514 the month before. (-30.9% change). Motor Vehicle Theft went from 2,786 to 2,423 (-13% change).
Among the types of offenses that saw an uptick last month, reports of Aggravated Assault went from 223 to 254 incidents (+13.9% change). Incidents of Destruction/Damage/Vandalism of Property rose from 885 to 987 incidents (+11.5% change). Simple Assault went up from 283 to 303 incidents (+7.1% change).
