Crime declining in Dallas: What's the latest in the trend? - Jul ‘22



The number of crime incidents in Dallas, TX saw an overall decrease last month, after a previous decrease, according to data from CrimeoMeter. Incidents fell to 8,203 for Jun-2022 down from 8,613 for May-2022 (-4.8% change).


The offenses that decreased the most were shoplifting and aggravated assault. Shoplifting fell to 52 incidents last month, from 77 the month before (-32.5% change). Aggravated assault went from 370 to 324 (-12.4% change). There was also a decrease in theft from motor vehicle, from 968 incidents to 904 (-6.6% change).


Among the few types of offenses that saw an uptick last month, reports of robbery went from 257 to 274 (+6.6% change). Drug/Narcotic Violations also increased from 312 incidents to 313 (+0.3% change).
