The number of crime incidents in Detroit saw an overall decrease last month, after a previous rise, according to data from CrimeoMeter. Incidents fell to 6,401 for Jul-2025 down from 6,944 for Jun-2025 (-7.8% change).

The offenses that decreased the most were Robbery and Theft From Motor Vehicle. Robbery fell to 91 incidents last month, from 119 the month before. (-23.5% change). Theft From Motor Vehicle went from 358 to 309 incidents (-13.7% change).
Among the types of offenses that saw an uptick last month, reports of Motor Vehicle Theft went from 637 to 663 incidents (+4.1% change).
