The number of crime incidents in Oakland saw an overall decrease last month, after a previous rise, according to data from CrimeoMeter. Incidents fell to 4,440 for Nov-2023 down from 4,877 for Oct-2023 (-9% change).
The offenses that decreased the most were Simple Assault and Aggravated Assault. Simple Assault fell to 145 incidents last month, from 196 the month before. (-26.0% change). Aggravated Assault went from 126 to 89 (-29.4% change).
Among the types of offenses that saw an uptick last month, reports of incidents of Theft From Motor Vehicle rose from 738 to 1,029 incidents (+39.4% change).
