Crime going down in Detroit: What's the latest in the trend? - Dec ‘21



The number of crime incidents in Detroit saw an overall decrease last month, after a previous rise, according to data from CrimeoMeter. Incidents fell to 5,498 for Nov-2021 down from 6,607 for Oct-2021 (-16.8% change).

The offenses that decreased the most were drug/narcotic violations and aggravated assault. Aggravated assault fell to 589 incidents last month, from 792 the month before (-25.6% change). Drug/narcotic violations went from 88 to 56 (-36.4% change).


There was also a decrease in simple assault, from 1,246 incidents to 1,029 (-17.4% change), and in theft from motor vehicle, from 296 to 251 incidents (-15.2% change).
