Crime increasing in Boston: What's the latest in the trend? - Mar ‘25

The number of crime incidents in Boston saw an overall increase last month, after a previous decrease, according to data from CrimeoMeter. Incidents increased to 5,926 for Mar-2025 up from 5,195 for Feb-2025 (+14.1% change). 

Among the types of offenses that saw an uptick last month, reports of Destruction/Damage/Vandalism of Property went from 151 to 201 incidents (+33.1% change). Incidents of Simple Assault rose from 198 to 236 incidents (+19.2% change). Aggravated Assault went up from 81 to 93 incidents (+14.8% change).
