The number of crime incidents in Austin saw an overall increase last month, after a previous decrease, according to data from CrimeoMeter. Incidents increased to 6,209 for Jan-2025 up from 5,292 for Dec-2025 (+17.3% change).
Among the types of offenses that saw an uptick last month, reports of Shoplifting went from 102 to 240 incidents (+135.3% change). Incidents of Robbery rose from 27 to 54 incidents (+100% change). Aggravated Assault went up from 193 to 384 incidents (+99% change).
