The number of crime incidents in Dallas saw an overall increase last month, after a previous decrease, according to data from CrimeoMeter. Incidents increased to 9,917 for Aug-2025 up from 9,679 for Jul-2025 (+2.5% change).

Among the types of offenses that saw an uptick last month, reports of Theft From Motor Vehicle went from 919 to 1,199 incidents (+30.5% change). Incidents of Simple Assault rose from 280 to 330 incidents (+17.9% change). Shoplifting went up from 321 to 365 incidents (+13.7% change).
