The number of crime incidents in Indianapolis saw an overall increase last month, after a previous decrease, according to data from CrimeoMeter. Incidents increased to 47,461 for May-2023 up from 43,806 for Apr-2023 (+8.3% change).
Among the types of offenses that saw an uptick last month, reports of Shoplifting went from 332 to 412 incidents (+24.1% change). Incidents of Aggravated Assault rose from 282 to 333 incidents (+18.1% change). Destruction/Damage/Vandalism of Property went up from 1,464 to 1,676 incidents (+14.5% change).
