Crime declining in Denver: What's the latest in the trend? - Jul '23



The number of crime incidents in Denver saw an overall decrease last month, after a previous rise, according to data from CrimeoMeter. Incidents fell to 6,979 for July-2023 down from 6,998 for June-2023 (-0.3% change).


The offenses that decreased the most were Burglary/Breaking & Entering and Motor Vehicle Theft. Burglary/Breaking & Entering fell to 374 incidents last month, from 435 the month before. (-14% change). Motor Vehicle Theft went from 1,186 to 1,049 (-11.6% change).

Among the types of offenses that saw an uptick last month, reports of Robbery went from 108 to 130 incidents (+20.4% change). Incidents of Destruction/Damage/Vandalism of Property rose from 789 to 860 incidents (+9% change). Simple Assault went up from 318 to 343 incidents (+7.9% change).
